Programme operator and funded projects were present at International Science Festival

From 12th to 17th October, the first edition FIC.A - International Science Festival was held in the historical centre of Oeiras, at the Marquês de Pombal Palace and Gardens. This event aimed to show the best science and technology developed in Portugal, celebrating knowledge, curiosity, and creativity through an innovative and free programme.

The Directorate General for Maritime Policy, operator of the Blue Growth Programme, joined this Festival, in the exhibition area, together with representatives of various institutions under the scope of the Ministry of the Sea. In addition to disclose the funding opportunities currently open, a multimedia presentation of the projects funded, was exhibited, highlighting the importance of the Blue Growth Programme for value creation and sustainable growth in the Portuguese blue economy.

With more than 700 activities and experiences and an agenda for all ages, visitors could also learn more about some of the projects funded by the Blue Growth Programme, which participated in the event:

  • BlueTide, that on October 13th, at 15h, developed the activity “Poças para que te Quero”, an online quizz that put schools to the test and tried to understand what students knew about the intertidal rocky shores.
  • Kids Dive: Portugal – Noruega, that on October 16th, at 14h, in Cinema Science #GREATFilm, held a presentation session of the project, introducing some contents on sustainability and marine literacy and showing the activities carried out with their participants.
