Blue Growth Programme represented at UNOC 2022 Side Event

 

From 27th June to 1st July 2022, the One Sustainable Ocean | Ocean Science & Business2Sea took place in Pavilhão de Portugal, Lisbon. This joint initiative organized by Lisbon City Council, Fórum Oceano, Science and Technology Foundation, University of Lisbon and several other entities, was held in the context of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) 2022 and focused on the themes of the future of the Ocean, Sustainability, Circular Economy and Innovation, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDGs 14).

 

In the venue, participants were able not only to visit the exhibition area, where companies and scientific institutions showcased their products and services, but also to attend the various events that took place in the auditoriums and workshop rooms. There was also a B2B networking lounge, and it was possible to enjoy two unique exhibitions of National Geographic and the Aga Khan Foundation.

 

The Directorate General for Maritime Policy, operator of the Blue Growth Programme, joined this side event, in the exhibition area. In addition to promote the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 Financial Mechanism, a multimedia presentation of the projects funded was exhibited, highlighting the importance of this Programme for value creation and sustainable growth in the Portuguese blue economy.
