Celebration in World Environment Day in Vila Real!

On june 5th, the municipality of Vila Real, through the environment services, could not fail to mark the World Environment Day

As part of Environment Week, the “Circular Economy in Schools” seminar was held at the Municipal Theater, where all the Vila Real School Groups and the Nervir Professional School were represented.

Throughout the school year, the aim was to create conditions for schools in the municipality to work on the theme of Circular Economy. It was at the “Circular Economy in Schools” seminar that all schools participating in the project had the opportunity either to share their work on good environmental practices, or to suggest new practices in different physical spaces in the school context. The ultimate aim of this initiative is the construction of a School Manual of Good Practices, encouraging increased application of the principles of Circular Economy.

This is one of the initiatives within the scope of the project “Para cá do Marão embalagens não!” inserted in the “Refuse” action, seeking to awaken the student public to this issue.

The project consists of five actions, based on the 5 R's policy regarding consumption, leading the consumer to rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle and refuse, and, simultaneously, to promote the Circular Economy in the packaging sector plastics bottles and cans.
Project financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA Grants and by the Secretary General for Environment.
