Planned in the activities of the Project, the roadshow will consist on the development of actions in the 12 Municipalities of the West that aim to raise awareness among the population and contribute to a greater participation of citizens in the recycling process.
Several packaging machines are already in operation in the Municipalities of the West. In these machines, citizens will be able to deposit their metal (cans) and plastic (PET) packaging up to 3 liters and receive a discount voucher for road transport passes in the West Region (until December 31st).
These machines will make it possible to test the functioning of the packaging deposit and reimbursement system, providing more information and data about it and contributing to better preparation of the country for the implementation of the deposit system.
Thus, through this activity, two promoters will explain to the population how the machines work, what incentive is given by depositing them, as well as the importance of selective depositing of packaging that facilitates their separation and increases the quality of materials, enhancing the circular economy.
It is therefore intended that the general public become aware of the existence of machines and feel motivated to bring packaging to help the environment and obtain benefits.
In the actions, the team of promoters will wear identifying t-shirts of the Project, roll-ups and posters will be placed and leaflets explaining the Project will be distributed.
The OESTE + RECICLA Project is supported through the Environment Programme of EEA Grants Portugal, a Multiannual Financial Mechanism between the European Economic Area and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
