Refill_H2O starts several awareness-raising activities with the community

After the free distribution of 10 thousand reusable bottles in all Higher Schools, Social Services, and Central Services, last November, and the installation of nine refilling stations for the entire academic community of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, now, at the beginning of the second semester and until March 31, various awareness-raising activities will be carried out within the scope of the Refill_H2O project.

The first action, a filtered water taste test, will take place at IPVC schools during the next week.

For now, there is normal and cold filtered water. Other options will be available soon, such as sparkling and flavored water. Each 0.70 l filling of high-quality filtered water costs €0.20.

The bottle has an RFID tag that can be associated with the institutional card, following the steps indicated at the refill station.

The #RefillH2O will later be disseminated to 38,000 students from 20 primary and secondary schools in Alto Minho, where reusable bottles will be distributed. If implemented in all schools in the region, it will make it possible to remove more than 10,000 tons of single-use plastic from the oceans.
