Vila Real promotes awareness campaign in Municipality Schools for the Sustainability and protection of this natural resource

The Municipality of Vila Real, through the Science Center, within the scope of the project “Para cá do Marão embalagens não!” and in conjunction with the mission for Environmental Education, promotes, between the 14th and 25th of March, a campaign to raise awareness of the sustainability of a natural resource of high value for the sustainability of the planet – the water.

This initiative will be made available to all classes of the 4th year of the municipal school park and consists of a wide range of games, discuss and activities on the topic.

Not forgetting the drought forecast for the current year and the need for this to be a wide-ranging campaign for everyone, for the general public and/or for other groups of students who are interested in participating, there will be an open day, at the Science Center, on the
international day of water on March 22, which will include various workshops/activities, all of them aimed at valuing the water resource, towards the goal to be achieved in Sustainable Development Goal 6 – Drinking water and sanitation, seeking to “improve water quality by
reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing the release of hazardous chemicals and materials, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater and substantially increasing recycling and reuse, globally”.

The project “Para cá do Marão embalagens não!” is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA Grants and by the General Secretariat for the Environment.
