A new challenge was launched for Cultural Heritage and Arts through the Culture Programme

On 23rd of April was launched the Culture Programme financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area EEA Grants 2014 -2021, in the future permises of the Centro Nacional de Arqueologia Náutica e Subaquática, in Lisbon.

With a funding of 9M€, the culture programme aims to support projects that promote social and economic development through cultural cooperation, entrepreneurship and heritage management in Portugal.

This initiative was marked by the signature of the Programme Implementation Agreement, between the National Management Unit, as National Focal Point, and the Programme Operator, the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, the Minister of Planning, Nelson de Souza, the Ambassador of Norway in Lisbon, Anders Erdal, the General Director for Cultural Heritage, Paula Araújo Silva and the Head of the National Management Unit of the EEA Grants Portugal, Susana Ramos.
