Património Cultural, I.P. is responsible for managing cultural heritage in mainland Portugal.
Its responsibilities include the study, research and dissemination of Portugal's tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the management of architectural and archaeological buildings, conservation and restoration work on monuments and archaeological sites that have been classified, are in the process of being classified or are of high historical, artistic and scientific interest, and the management of a vast network of monuments and archaeological sites throughout mainland Portugal, including the documentation and inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
Património Cultural, I.P. is the Culture Programme Operator and has the Directorate General for the Arts as the Programme Partner.

Directorate General for the Arts
The Directorate General for the Arts (DGARTES) is a central department of the Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to coordinate and implement policies in order to support the arts in Portugal, prioritizing the promotion and the qualification of artistic creation as well as guaranteeing the universality of its fruition. DGARTES supports the following artistic areas: Performing Arts (contemporary circus and street art, dance, music and theatre), Visual Arts (architecture, plastic arts, design, photography and new media) and Cross-disciplinary Arts.
