Matchmaking initiative on “Living Labs for Low Carbon and Climate Change Mitigation”

Matchmaking event design to the promotion of bilateral project partnerships between entities established in Portugal, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, on the application of innovative low carbon solutions

The matchmaking event  “Living Labs for Low Carbon and Climate Change Mitigation”will take place on February 13th, at the premises of the Secretary General for Environment and Climate Action

This meeting is part of the initiatives of the Bilateral Relations Fund, between the Operator of the Programme “Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy” (Environment Programme) and its Donor Programme Partner, Innovation Norway. The purpose of this first meeting is to stimulate lasting cooperation between donor countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Portugal by encouraging partnership projects.

The projects to be submitted should include testing of products, services, applications and infrastructures, local governance models and awareness campaigns on:

  • Circular Economy - resource and waste management, smart water management.
  • Sustainable Urban Mobility -transport modes, parking, electric mobility, batteries charging innovative solutions, sharing systems (carpooling, carsharing and bikesharing).
  • Energy - smart grids, smart meters, intelligent street lighting systems.
  • Buildings - zero emissions, passive houses, renewable energy sources.

Applicants can participate in the Event for Bilateral Meetings between the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Portugal.

Participants from the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Portugal can present their ideas in the pitching session (three minutes per entity, first in first served) at 30 maximum.

Participants may bring (expenses incurred by themselves) disclosure materials and other communication brochures that do not exceed the maximum dimension of 210 cm height – 85cm width (first in, first served) at 30 maximum.

The Environment Programme is a financing instrument for the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (MFEEE 2014-2021) with a total allocation of more than 28 million euros, of which 4.2 million are from national allocation.
