EEA Grants international Workshop

The National Management Unit of the EEA Grants Portugal, as National Focal Point of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism, attended, from January 21st to the 23rd the annual workshop promoted by the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO), in Brussels.

In this initiative, attended by all the beneficiary countries of the EEAFM 2014-2021, the representatives of the Donor Countries shared their expectations regarding the role of the National Focal Points in the EEAFM current implementation phase, as well as the priorities for the implementation of the Fund for Bilateral Relations.

The FMO also addressed subjects related to the implementation of the financial mechanism, focusing on points such as monitoring, risk management and indicators.

Two interventions in the workshop must be highlighted, the first from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), regarding the good governance on the implementation of the funds, and the second one, from the Horizontal Team, to update the current status of the regional cooperation and youth employment funds.

On the sidelines of this initiative, Susana Ramos and Maria João Lois, UNG EEA Grants officials also had the opportunity to discuss areas of bilateral interest with the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland.
