On March 9, the consignment notice for an intervention of more than 400 thousand euros was celebrated to rehabilitate the riverside ecosystems of the river Ceira. In the municipality of Arganil, the project provides for the rehabilitation of the riverfront between the town of Malhada and the stream of Adela, in the Union of Parishes of Cepos and Teixeira, over a length of 6.2 km.

The project AquaCell aims to develop intestinal cell lines for European seabass and Atlantic salmon, which are two species of high economic value in Europe. Two weirs on the Ceira River, namely the Vale Pardeiro and Poço da Cesta, were repaired to prevent flooding. The regularization works of this river, designated as “Ceira River Fluvial Rehabilitation - Hydraulic Works”, are part of the project “Management of the Ceira River Basin in adapted to a Changing Climate”.

This project, funded by EEA Grants, supported by the Intermunicipal Community of Central Alentejo and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, aims to involve citizens in planting fifty thousand trees in urban agglomerations in the district of Évora, reducing the "heat island" effect they create. The public presentation of the Além Risco project in Redondo will take place on 7th September at 6.30pm in the Public Garden. For Redondo, Évora, until January 2023, it is planned to plant 3000 trees, of which around 1300 will be given to citizens and entities to be distributed through the "Eu Quero Árvores" campaign, which is planned to start this autumn on dates yet to be announced.

The Active Citizens Fund has approved 48 social intervention projects promoted by Portuguese non-governmental organizations (NGOs), for about 3.5 million euros.
