The Municipality of Cascais will organize a series of online conversations, entitled “Ambiente Cascais Live”, about environmental sustainability, addressing in the first editions topics as crucial as Circular Economy, Plastics: Numbers of change and Practical Solutions for a Life Without Trash. With free participation, these webinars will take place from the 18th of February, at 17:00.

In the first edition, “iRec - Innovate Recycling” will be presented, a recently opened project that aims to promote the circular economy, through a return system for the consumer, reintroducing waste into the economic chain as new products, thus avoiding consumption more natural resources.

Financed by EEAGrants, and with the support of the Ministry of the Environment, this pioneering project anticipates the future mandatory implementation of these systems in Portugal as early as 2022.

For these digital events, Cascais Ambiente will invite several organizations dedicated to environmental protection and awareness, such as the Zero Waste Lab association, Circular Economy Portugal, the Recoverable Tare Movement, the Claro Cascais Movement, Plastic Attack and Zero Waste Youth.
