Sintra tests a model that combines logistical efficiency and bio-waste recycling

Under the "i4efficiency - Intelligent identifier of integration and logistics efficiency" project, two areas integrated in the Sintra Parish Union and in the Parish Union of Massamá Monte Abraão, belonging to the Sintra municipality, will function as a living laboratory to test a model that aims to reduce the environmental footprint and increase the recycling of bio-waste.

The project aims to reduce CO2 emissions from activities associated with urban logistics operations, such as postal distribution, water, electricity and gas services. The project will also promote increased bioresidue recycling rates. 
The project will be tested throughout the year 2023 and will have two logistic centers to support the activities, as well as an online platform that will function as an information aggregator.
