Inserted in the “More Pollinators, More Biodiversity in the Municipality of Oeiras” project, the local community was invited to participate in the first removal of invasive species in the area, which took place on the 28th of October at 9 am next to Casa da Pesca - Quinta de Cima do Marquês de Pombal.
The introduction and spread of invasive species is one of the main causes of biodiversity loss worldwide, so it is urgent to raise awareness and action for its control and eradication.
In this activity, participants got to know some of the main invasive flora species present on the area, and were challenged to actively contribute to the initial control of the targeted species announced on that day.
