Glass Boundaries – Gendering the labour market – costs of occupational and educational segregation: Preliminary results

Fronteiras De Vidro C

Within the scope of the research project Glass Boundaries – Gendering the labour market – costs of occupational and educational segregation, promoted by the Centre for Social Studies - the University of Coimbra, financed by the EEA Grants and operated by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, preliminary results are available on the project website.

A first analysis of the available data will allow the calculation of the segregation index of the Portuguese employed population, comparing the years 2011 and 2018, based on Personnel Tables (GEP / MTSSS).

This segregation index is expressed as a percentage and indicates the proportion of women (or men) who would have to change occupations so that the occupation distribution between women and men would be the same.
