Environment Programme: Deposit refund system for beverage bottles and cans

Launching of the call in the scope of projects promoting Circular Economy principles in production and consumption

Under the EEA Grants 2014-2021, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as donor Countries, finance, in 15 Member States of the European Union, initiatives and projects with the objective of reducing social and economic disparities by strengthening bilateral relations with beneficiary Countries.

The Environment Programme launched this call, under the scope of the increased application of Circular Economy principles in production and consumption through solutions for plastic bottle (and cans) deposit, solutions for re-using plastic bottles, solutions for producers to use recycled plastic bottles (and cans) and solutions for treating and recycling plastic bottles (and cans).

Innovative and structuring projects will be financed in the areas of Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy, with the objective of promoting good environmental status of ecosystems and reducing the adverse effects of pollution and other human activities.

The Deposit refund system for beverage bottles and cans has a total allocation of 6,400,000 euros.

Applications must be submitted using for each Call the respective electronic application form and attachments on the EEA Grants website available within the Calls.

The Secretary General for Environment and Energy Transition (SGMATE) has been designated Operator Programme Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy (Environment Programme), and its Donor Programme Partner, Innovation Norway (IN).
