Environment Programme present at the Open Innovation Conference in Portugal

The Open Innovation Conference in Portugal, which will take place on March 4 at Porto Business School, is an event promoted under the SIAC - Knowledge Transfer Initiative, co-financed by COMPETE 2020, through Portugal 2020 and the European Regional Development Fund.

The participation of the Secretary General for the Environment, as Programme Operator of the Environment Programme, will be within the scope of “Sustainable Materials and Products: the impact of Open Innovation for the Circular Economy”, with a presentation on Living Labs for Decarbonization and Mitigation of Climate Changes.

Living labs can be defined such as areas for testing innovative solutions, where multiple stakeholders collaborate in the development, prototyping, validation and testing of new technologies, services and their applications in real context with local identity and recognizable by citizens.

The Environment Programme is a financing instrument for the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (MFEEE 2014-2021) with a total allocation of more than 28 million euros, of which 4.2 million are from national allocation.
