In a free online event, the Portal of Sustainable Construction wil carry out an information session about its latest project - the creation of an environmental label for construction products – which is based on procedures for developing Type I environmental labeling programs (ISO 14024) to assess and demonstrate their compliance with the sustainability of building materials.
It aims to promote products that cause less environmental impact by communicating verifiable and accurate, non-misleading information on sustainability aspects, thus stimulating the potential for continuous environmental improvement in the construction sector.
From now on, any company may submit their products/materials for evaluation by the Sustainable Construction Portal in order to label their products. It is believed that this label, unique in Portugal, at the level of this type of labeling, can be a valuable contribution on the path of greater sustainable development of the construction sector, one of the most polluting sectors.
The Portal of Sustainable Construction could not be more proud and grateful to EEAGrants and the Ministry of Environment for having believed and supported this project.
