The first edition of “Yes, Igualdade Talks” brought together young people, businesswomen and association leaders, to talk about Equality and the importance of civic participation by girls and women for a more equal future.

Facilitating this conversation, held in the Main Hall of the City Hall, were Rosa Maria Pinto, Councilor for Cohesion and Social Action of the Municipality of Felgueiras, Alexandra Pires, Carité Calçados, Lda. and Marisa Ferreira, Researcher and Professor at ESTG - School of Technology and Management.

Liliane Queirós, local councilor for Equality, moderated a conversation that addressed the good examples and the sometimes invisible difficulties that hinder affirmation and equal opportunities.

The YES Igualdade project promotes the political and civic participation of women and girls at the local level, financed under the Work-life Balance Programme of the EEA Grants, operated by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), within the scope of is also part of the Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination, of the Municipality of Felgueiras.

With the invitation for a new edition of “Yes, Igualdade Talks” to be announced shortly, a 35-hour training of leaders in Gender Equality and Intervention will be held, with registration open.
