Workshop #1 – Oeste Adapta Project

On May 31st, at 10 am, the first workshop of the Oeste Adapta Project - Municipal Climate Adaptation Planning in the West Region will be held

The activity will be centered on the presentation of the methodology to be followed for the elaboration of the municipal adaptation plans of each of the municipalities that form the West Region. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation and the containment measures defined by the State of Emergency, the workshop will be held in the form of a webinar, supported on the Zoom online platform.

The Oeste Adapta Project is promoted by the Intermunicipal Community of the West and the Center for Regional and Urban Studies and Development (CEDRU) and the Vestlandsforsking - Western Norway Research Institute (Norway) as partners.

The Project intends to promote the integration of OestePIAAC at the municipal scale, to provide West municipalities with a strategic and operational instrument for adapting to climate change that increases local resilience, promoting the integration of adaptation to climate change in the Municipal Plans of Territorial Planning, defining an operational framework for adaptation to climate change to be implemented by 2030, increase the adaptive capacity of municipalities by promoting the training of municipal technicians in the field of local climate adaptation and increase the sensitivity and preparation of local and regional actors, educational communities and the population in general, for deal with the implications of climate change.

Oeste Adapta is a project financed by the EEA Grants under the Small Grants Scheme #3 - Projects to strengthen adaptation to climate change at the local level, under the Environment Program, with a total cost of 233,640.00 euros, the component of which is financed by EEA Grants is 198,594.00 euros.
