BridGEs: Opening Session

BridGEs – Alto Minho Companies for Gender Equality appointed March 10th for its official presentation to the community, in the week that marks the International Women's Day.

The event is particularly aimed at companies and organizations interested in understanding whether their work contexts are promoters of equality and in improving their policies and practices of gender equality, reconciliation, and inclusion of diversity.

It starts at 16:00 WET and takes place online, through the zoom platform. The opening session will be attended by the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, Rosa Monteiro, accompanied by the Director of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto, Luísa Faria, and the Project's Principal Investigator, Conceição Nogueira.

This will be followed by the presentation of the project and of the national and international partners who joined the initiative from the very first moment.

The programme includes an intervention by Lina Coelho, a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. PhD in Economics, her research interests include topics on the economics of inequality, feminist economics, and family economics. She has emphasized the gender perspective in studies on income inequalities and the impacts of the economic crisis.

Sandra Ribeiro, President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, and Conceição Nogueira, Principal Investigator of the Project, will close the ceremony.
