CLEANBIZ Online Conference raised awareness of the relevance of combating corruption in international trade

Last Friday, Transparency International (TI) held the CLEANBIZ – Power Up Anti-Bribery for Human Rights and Sustainable Development online conference, integrated in the initiative with the same name that is supported by EEA Grants –Bilateral Relations Fund.

Besides the promoters, the national chapters of TI in Iceland, Norway and Portugal, and Maria João Lois, deputy coordinator of EEA Grants, the session brought together a panel of experts from the TI network, including Peter Eigen, one of the founders of this global movement of anti-corruption NGOs present in over 100 countries, as well as François Valérian, member of the International Board of TI, and Gillian Dell, Head of the Conventions Programme.

The event, aimed at companies and professionals with links to the sector, aimed to raise awareness of the relevance of adopting anti-bribery practices in international trade as a way to ensure the protection of human rights and the full realization of the United Nations Agenda 2030.
