Ledwall

The Blue Growth Programme presents achieved results and reinforces alignment with the "Restore Our Oceans by 2030" Mission in research and business areas.

The Midterm Event of the Blue Growth Programme will take place on October 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at the Douro and Leixões Cruise Terminal. The event, dedicated to presenting achieved results, consists of two highly relevant sessions, namely:

Session 1 - How can EEA Grants Research projects contribute to the "Restore Our Oceans by 2030" Mission. This panel aims to highlight the alignment of the Blue Growth Programme of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 (EEA Grants) with the objectives of the "Restore Our Oceans by 2030" Mission.

Session 2 - "Turning Starfish Mission into Business Opportunities" aims to identify business opportunities resulting from the pursuit of the "Restore Our Oceans by 2030" Mission's objectives and emphasize the importance of companies internationalization.

The Blue Growth Program is one of the five Programms approved under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 (EEA Grants) and aims to increase value creation and sustainable growth in the Portuguese blue economy. Furthermore, the intention is to boost research and promote education and training in marine and maritime areas. The Blue Growth Programme operates in three distinct but complementary areas: Business and Innovation, Research, and Education and Ocean Literacy.

This event represents a significant milestone for the Blue Growth Programme, both in terms of presenting project results and reinforcing the commitment to sustainable development of the blue economy and ocean protection.
