The 1st Online Meeting between the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon (MAL) and the EEA Grants Portugal took place on November the 6th under the theme “EEA Grants Financing Opportunities with Metropolitan Area of Lisbon and their Municipalities”, with the aim of supporting the EEA Grants Portugal and the Program Operators in the dissemination of National Programs, more specifically, and in the case of DGPM, the dissemination of the “Blue Growth” Program and open Calls, taking advantage of the multilevel training of municipal human resources and also, in a broader level, in the construction of a more socially, culturally, environmentally and economically cohesive metropolitan territory.
The Financial Mechanism was presented by EEA Portugal and all Program Operators made presentations on the different program areas, with an emphasis on the available financing possibilities.
Through the existing channels, MAL made itself available to inform, monitor and develop with their Municipalities, the skills necessary to respond to the challenges that the applications represent, promoting the development of the metropolitan area and increasing the levels of qualified execution of the 5 Programs, reciprocally, disseminating the various initiatives that allow the development of Municipalities, as promoters, beneficiaries or local disseminators, as well as promoting interest among associative, institutional or business partners.
The objective of this meeting was largely achieved, in the future metropolitan partnerships will be promoted through Matchmaking events, in order to announce the contests, encourage participation and find partnerships to obtain financing.
The meeting took place in an environment of effective institutional sharing and collaboration.
