First Mission to Norway for the Environment Programme

The initiative, organized by the program operator, the Secretary General of the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Transition, took place between October 8 and 12, with the presence of Carlos Martins, Secretary of State for the Environment.

The Environment Programme, one of the five EEA Grants 2014-2021 programmes, visited Norway in order to share experiences on issues such as forest fires, civil protection and emergencies, sustainability and to learn about the Norwegian policies on waste recovery.

The initiative, organized by the program operator, the Secretary General for Environment and Energy Transition, was also attended by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Carlos Martins, Susana Ramos and Maria João Lois, of the National Unit for the Management of EEA Grants Portugal, among others.

The Ambassador of Portugal in Oslo also attended some of the working sessions and offered a dinner at his official residence to the Portuguese and Norwegian delegations.

The EEA Grants 2014-2021 Environment Programme will benefit from a financial allocation of €24 million and its main objectives are the promotion of a low carbon economy, with special emphasis on the Circular Economy, decarbonization of Society and valorisation of the territory.
