New Clean Tech accelerator program seeks solutions to improve sustainability of cities

Applications are now open for the new Clean Future accelerator program.

The program seeks technology-based solutions in CleanTech that are able to improve the sustainability of cities. There are 20 thousand euros in prizes and applications run until April 23 through the official program website of the Beato Living Lab's Creative Hub.

"Technological innovation is an essential factor for sustainable development. The acceleration program 'Clean Future', under the scope of the Beato Living Lab's Creative Hub, is looking for sustainable projects and solutions that have the mission to face the current environmental challenges. Unicorn Factory Lisboa and Startup Lisboa will help the startups selected for the program to develop and scale their business models," said Gil Azevedo, executive director of Startup Lisboa and Unicorn Factory Lisboa, in a statement.

Clean Future aims to support the creation and development of technological solutions to improve the sustainability of cities. Participants will have access to a program consisting of several modules that aim to accelerate the development of their projects, with a duration of ten weeks.

In the last stage of the program, the startups will have the opportunity to present their solutions to a jury panel of experts, which will determine the winner of each category, as well as the overall winner of the program. Five thousand euros will be awarded to the winner of each category, and the overall winner will receive an additional five thousand euros.

Construction, mobility and retail are the three categories that the program will focus on, with Mota-Engil, EMEL and GS1 Portugal as partners, respectively.

The "Clean Future" acceleration program is one of nine operations of the Beato Living Lab Creative Hub, a living lab promoted by Unicorn Factory Lisboa and Startup Lisboa and co-financed by EEA Grants under the "Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy" program.
