Além Risco ends project with more than 50,000 trees planted

The Closing Ceremony of the Além Risco Project took place on January 26th at the Garcia de Resende Theater in Évora.

Based on the concept of nature-based solutions for adaptation to climate change, the project "Além Risco", funded through the EEA Grants program, mobilized local communities, such as municipalities, schools and civil society, in order to address the risks of heat waves to public health.

The "Beyond Risk" project, co-financed by CIMAC, came to an end with more than 50 thousand trees planted in the Central Alentejo region.

The closing ceremony was attended by Tove Bruvik Westberg, Norwegian Ambassador, Susana Ramos from the EEA Grants National Management Unit, Luís Dias, President of CIMAC, António Feijó, President of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Miguel Bastos Araújo, Coordinator of the Além Risco Team, Aurora Carapinha from Évora University, Carla Castelo from Evoluir Oeiras, João Grilo from Alentejo Regional Development Agency, João Medina from Alentejo Regional Strategy of Adaptation to Climate Change, Susana Escária and Valter Borges from EEA Grants Environment Program.
