The webinar for the presentation of the Project "Free Choices- Estereótipos não fazem o meu género: escolhas vocacionais e profissionais livres de preconceitos", promoted by UMAR- União de Mulheres Alternativa e Resposta, will take place on December 5th, at 6.30 p.m.
The Project Free Choices aims to implement a program of prevention of gender stereotypes and promotion of gender equality, with a focus on vocational and professional choices, with young people from the 3rd cycle in eight schools in the districts of Porto and Setúbal.
In the course of its implementation, the Project will contribute to the deconstruction of gender stereotypes that legitimize or contribute to sexual segregation in the educational and professional choices of young people, promotion of the participation and critical reflection of young people in the prevention of gender stereotypes and promotion of gender equality, development of a network through the involvement of different entities that have a decisive role in changing this segregation paradigm (schools, higher education institutions, professional schools, social solidarity institutions and reference people for mentoring activities).
The project's partner entities are Centro Interdisciplinar de Estudos de Género (CIEG) - ISCSP, Instituto Politécnico do Porto, Universidade de Jyväskylä, Icelandic Women's Rights Association, ATEC – Associação de Formação para a Indústria, Associação Nós – Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social, Escola Secundária Fernão Mendes Pinto, Escola Secundária da Amora, Escola Secundária du Bocage, Escola Básica Hermenegildo Capelo, Agrupamento de Escolas da Maia, Agrupamento de Escolas Nº1 de Marco de Canaveses, Agrupamento de Escolas Vallis Longus e Agrupamento de Escolas Gaia Nascente.
The Webinar of presentation of the Project Free Choices will be held via Zoom on December 5th, at 18h30, and will be open to the whole community and will be attended by the Secretária de Estado da Igualdade e Migrações, Isabel Almeida Rodrigues, representative of the Comissão para a Cidadania e a Igualdade de Género, Teresa Alvarez, representative of the Embaixada da Noruega, Ellen Aabø, and researcher and co-founder of the Centro Interdisciplinar de Estudos de Género (CIEG) - ISCSP da Universidade de Lisboa, Maria João Cunha, besides others Partners Entities.
