What did this initiative focus on?

This initiative aimed at the development of two technologies applicable to existing buildings and structures:

  1. Photogrammetry using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for highly accurate reconstruction, particularly useful in tall structures.

  2. Satellite-based Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) for identifying kinematic mechanisms of constructions, specifically through deformation measurements.

The initiative involves the participation of the Universidade Lusófona (Portuguese promoter) and the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, NGI (Norwegian partner).

In this context, a broad set of activities is planned, including:

  • Various technical meetings with representatives from both institutions.
  • Application of the developed technologies to two case studies.
  • A workshop at the Universidade Lusófona.
  • A visit to NGI, involving meetings and a lecture.
  • Writing and submission of joint articles (in conferences and scientific journals).
