Programme:What did this initiative focus on?
This initiative aims to develop the knowledge and use of Nursing Information Systems as an integral part of electronic health records in Iceland and Norway, through the implementation of activities aimed at increasing the understanding of the importance of the electronic nursing documentation process using the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP©), at the level of nursing education and professional practice.
This project is being developed by the Centre for Information Systems Research and Development of Porto Nursing School, in partnership with the Department of Health Sciences and Nursing of the University of Agder, Norway and the Faculty of Nursing of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Iceland.
This partnership aims to implement a set of cooperation and exchange actions that include:
- a workshop;
- an e-learning course and
- a knowledge-sharing seminar.
With the development of this initiative it is intended to strengthen the collaboration between higher education institutions of nursing in Portugal, Iceland and Norway, increasing the transfer of knowledge between the three countries involved, and to support the development of nursing information systems using ICNP© in Iceland and Norway, promoting a sustainable policy development in the three countries by using nursing classifications and ontologies.
