Visita .PT A ISNIC

Partners developed the “Atlantic Roots, Digital Future” campaign

.PT (DNS.PT Association) and ISNIC are the entities responsible for the management, maintenance and registration of domains under the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) corresponding to their countries, .pt and .is, respectively. This typology of entities are also designated by Registries. Registries share similar goals, such as to offering high levels of quality, reliability and security in the registration o domain names - specifically .pt and .is - and are fully committed to cybersecurity and sustainability at the national level.

Within the framework of the Fund for Bilateral Relations, .PT and ISNIC established a partnership, focused on communication and international cooperation. In this context, .PT and ISNIC developed a campaign highlighting the importance of sustainability and cybersecurity for the growth of a ccTLD and, consequently, for companies and country. The campaign, titled "Atlantic Roots, Digital Future" aimed to increase the digital presence of individuals and companies, through campaigns, events, promotional materials, training sessions and workshops, cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries.

This partnership began with participation in the IDC Directions event in October 2024, followed by a presence at the Portugal Digital Summit, also held in October. In addition to attending these events, two national communication campaigns were developed, along with a special edition of .PT's magazine dedicated to cybersecurity issues, PTSOCNews, featuring contributions from ISNIC, SIDN and DENIC. The partnership also incuded an exchange of experiences and knowledge between the two countries, with .PT visiting ISNIC.

The partnership culminated in May with the presentation of a case study to CENTR -  the association of European country code top-level domain name registries, of which both .PT and ISNIC are members - showcasing how two small countries, one in the EU and one outside the EU, can sucessfully cooperate.
