PARTICULAR UNIVERSAL

PARTICULAR UNIVERSAL is a two-year project, centered on the Municipality of Castro Marim (southeast Portugal), based on artistic co-creations linked to the themes of identity, memory and landscape. The project includes different work modules around complementary concepts and strategies, such as, among others, the creation of a sound archive, a community archive for “Vozes da Memória” (“Voices of Memory”) and several thematic artistic residencies targeted at Portuguese, Norwegian and international creators for the production and presentation of theater plays, new music and sound art.

The methods used are closely linked to concepts such as immersion, documentation, inspiration and collaboration, and translate into the involvement of the local population, through workshops and interviews leading to the production of community theater works, sound recordings, installation, acoustic and electronic composition and presentation, exchanges and mentoring. PARTICULAR UNIVERSAL is a project of OUT.RA – Associação Cultural, in partnership with the Municipality of Castro Marim, Teatro do Vestido, Filho Único and NyMusikk.
