Final Seminar: Biosphere Reserves

The Final Seminar on "Biosphere Reserves: Sustainable Territories, Resilient Communities" will take place on 28 September at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon. Admission is free, subject to confirmation via this link.

The event will be opened by the Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro. Throughout the day, the results of the project's main activities will be addressed and discussed, as well as the challenges related to networking and international cooperation. The highlight will be the presentation of the 1st Award for Good Practices in Sustainable Tourism in the Biosphere Reserves of Portugal.

The Biosphere Reserves project in Portugal is operated by the General Secretariat for the Environment, funded by EEA Grants and promoted by the consultancy Quaternaire Portugal, whose mission is to enhance the country's 12 Biosphere Reserves.

Biosphere Reserves are territories recognised by UNESCO's MaB programme for their nature, biodiversity and sustainable development at a social, economic and cultural level, with a focus on research and conservation of this valuable heritage. This project has a vast multidisciplinary team made up of institutions and specialists, including national universities and various international partners.

The programme, subject to confirmation from some of the participants, is already available and promises an enriching and productive day. Don't miss this opportunity to get involved and contribute to a more sustainable future. We look forward to welcoming you to this important event.
