On the 24th of October, at 2.30 pm, the Local Council for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Municipality of Torres Vedras will take place.
The Local Adaptation Councils will be held in all 12 municipalities in the West, with the participation of representatives of the relevant sectoral entities of each municipality and region.
The following topics will be addressed in the session:
- Climate Change and Adaptive Planning in the West
- Local Risks and Vulnerabilities
The participants will then be organized by round tables in order to discuss the current and future climate vulnerabilities of the territory and promote adaptation measures, promoting their awareness of the problem of climate change and the importance of adaptation, as well as their involvement in the design and validation of strategies and action plans for local climate adaptation.
The “Oeste Adapta – Municipal Climate Adaptation Planning in the Oeste Region” project is funded by the Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy Program of the EEA Grants 2014-2021, led by OesteCIM - Comunidade Intermunicipal do Oeste, in partnership with CEDRU - Centro de Estudos e Desenvolvimento Regional e Urbano, Lda and Vestlandsforsking (Western Norway Research Institute), with a total eligible cost of EUR 233,640.00 and with the financial support of EEA Grants in the amount of EUR 198,594.00.
