On 4 September, a visit was organised to the facilities of the Training Division of the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP) in Caxias.
In attendance were the Deputy Secretary of State for Justice, Gonçalo da Cunha Pires, the coordinator of the National Management Unit for EEAGrants in Portugal, Maria Mineiro, the Director-General for Reintegration and Prison Services, Orlando Carvalho, and representatives from the Office of the Deputy Secretary of State for Youth and Equality, as well as the President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) and her team.
The visit is part of the preparation phase for the ‘Domestic and Gender Violence’ Programme of the new EEAGrants funding cycle, which will be administered by CIG, with a total budget of €14 million, of which about €4 million will be allocated to the area of justice, in this case investing in training and qualifications to combat domestic and gender violence more effectively.
