What did this initiative consist of?

This bilateral initiative is based on the exchange of experiences (knowledge and skills) on soil dynamics, particularly in the context of vibrations generated by traffic.

As part of the tasks to be developed in Portugal, a seminar will be organised at the Porto Lusófona University (ULP), with the special participation of Amir Kaynia (expert Norwegian Geotechnical Institute- NGI).

Furthermore, a (short) advanced course, focusing on soil dynamics, will be coordinated by Amir Kaynia.

The seminar (as well as the advanced course) will be of interest to professionals in the field, as well as teachers, researchers and students.

As regards the mobility to Norway, a visit to the facilities (laboratories and other spaces) of the NGI is planned, as well as a meeting with experts from the institution.

There will also be a presentation by Nuno Correia dos Santos, focused on the issue of vibrations generated by traffic.

With the proposed initiative, the aim is to strengthen relations and define collaborations such as, for example, aiming at joint research proposals to national and community programmes).
